NIC remains closed this week

The staff of the Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center had hoped to have things up and running by now. However, the museum will remain closed until Saturday, July 11.
Like many other buildings in downtown Casper, the NIC was filled with water during last Friday’s flash flood. No artwork was damaged, but a considerable amount of water had to me removed.
Contractors and staff still are working to get the museum cleaned up.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience, but there is still a bit of cleanup that remains to be done,” Executive Director Holly Turner said in a news release.
Currently, the museum is scheduled to reopen to the public at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and will close at 2:30 p.m. that day for a private event.
Normal hours will resume on Sunday, when the museum will be open from noon to 4 p.m.
