Humane Society announces clinic, photos
The Casper Humane Society (CHS) is offering its monthly vaccination clinic and public pet photo opportunity in January.
The low-cost vaccinations will be given from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7 at the shelter, 849 E. E St. Residents are invited to bring their cats and dogs, and no appointment is necessary.
All animals must be restrained, either on a leash or in a pet carrier. Rabies and distemper shots for dogs and cats are available; additionally, feline leukemia vaccinations are offered.
The cost is $10 per vaccine except for the cat combo that includes the feline leukemia vaccine, which is $20.
Pet owners also can purchase City pet licenses at the clinic. Cost for the tags is $5 each for pets that are spayed/neutered and $25 each for animals not spayed/neutered.
Pet photos with DeMaine Image will be taken from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10. When DeMaine Image takes photos of the newest animals available for adoption at the CHS each month, the business also provides pet owners the opportunity to have photos taken.
A $10 sitting fee is charged, and pet owners can choose from several photo packages; price varies depending upon the package chosen. People can also choose their own background with new technology.
When you have a portrait of your pet taken, you also help an animal at the CHS find a home as a portion of the $10 sitting fee is given to the CHS to help offset costs of having the shelter animals' photos taken.
These photos are then used to advertise the pets on the CHS website as well as on Petfinder.com and in local media, providing better opportunity for the shelter animals to be adopted. For more information about the pet photo opportunity, the photo packages available, and the background technology options, contact DeMaine Image at 266-0945.
